Scars not yet healed
Our inner demons come out to play
They tussle, they challenge our light
Open wounds are exposed. Naked
No cover up. No brave face this time
Just raw emotion
True pain. True worry.
True hope?
The only person who can answer this for you is yourself
This is the universe’s version of tough love
There is a reason why others cannot feel everything you feel
The happiness as much as the sadness
But there is also a reason we are able to share life and love
There is a reason we are here to help each other
It’s okay to be afraid
To work through pain or uncertainty
It’s okay to not be okay all the time
You are human
It’s okay to be you
There is no shame in that
Scars and all
The beauty of this journey of life is ours for the taking
Perhaps you don’t hear it often enough
Or maybe you hear it enough
But the pain and the noise distracts you from the truth
You are loved
You are special
You are life
There is always a reason to keep living
There is more to this life than the pain you feel right now
I can’t promise you it will be easy
But I can promise you it is worth a shot
You are worth the life, the adventures, the growth
You are worth the love
Maybe right now you can’t see how you’ll get through this
But you, lovely beauty, have made it this far
You’ve overcome so much
I’m proud of you
Sure, you would have preferred to not have to hurt as much as you have loved
But even then, you made it through
There is no guidance manual to this madness called life
You’ve found a way to pick yourself up
You’ve done it before
Look through the fog, into the love
