Try not to let your thoughts rule your life. As always, this is easier said than done, but certainly worth doing. ~
There may be many valid reasons for planning, concerns or thinking ahead in general.
Though more often than not, we spend so much time doing all the overthinking in the world.
Overthinking when we get a slight chance at happiness after having a rough time/life.
Overthinking when we fall in love, or not even allowing it to happen.
Overthinking that we may not deserve that opportunity that we worked so hard for and finally got.
Overthinking that if we plan for every single scenario we can completely avoid any form of failure or suffering.
The list surely goes on.
By doing this we steal away from the quality of our lives.
What we have to remember is overthinking can easily appear to us as good planning. It usually seems rational to us, but it’s not. Sure, life can be difficult and not pretty at times. It can be rough with so many things to be aware of or safeguard against.
Though one thing is for certain, proven by copious publicly available research and studies, overthinking about things (especially things out of our control) will never help to make our lives better. It limits our living. So let’s try and let it go.
Its likely you’ve heard all of this before. Though there is always room to improve our chance at a better life.
Possible methods to help stop overthinking:
- Meditation /mindfulness
- Journal/Gratitude journal
- Picking up an art
- Exercising
- Reading
- Pick up fun and healthy things that interests you
- Being around positive people and energy
- Learning to trust yourself and knowing your self worth
