Many people have a very restrictive view on the term creative. When someone is called creative, people tend to assume the person must be one of the following: artistic, a writer, musician or some other similar art-like vocation.
However, simply put, someone who is creative is literally someone who creates something… anything.
To add, what you create doesn’t necessarily have to be a physical thing. It could be a concept, or even a positive feeling you create in people who hear you, see you or encounter you. Believe it or not, we are all born to create!
Small or big, physical or not, the things we create are unique and individual to us and hence very special.
There is no replica that will be exactly the same as what you individually have created. Therefore, there is something out there in the world that would not exist without you; your ideas, your passion, your contribution, your legacy. Take pride in this and continue to create.
Life is full of many ups and downs. We know this. Sometimes we can get caught up in our temporary struggles and neglect the positive impact we can have by just doing and creating the small things. Making the little things happen, like starting that book club you’ve been meaning to, or kick-starting that teaching course that eventually enabled you to engage and inspire hundreds of students.
One thing is for certain though, creations can live on, not just through physical things or beings, but also through inspiration and innovation. Whenever you decide to create something, you are almost certainly ensuring at least one person out there is moved or inspired to do something. They too can (and most likely will) go on to inspire someone else and so on.
Bring back your motivation, even during trying times, as sometimes this period can bring about more triumph in inspiration, if you apply yourself! It’s okay to be afraid, do it anyway 🙂
